About Granada

Granada is located in Andalusia, a large region in the South of Spain with an enormous heritage of Islamic, Renaissance and Baroque art which make it a true “mixture of cultures”.

This mid-size town (population: 240,000) is famous for its beautiful location. It lies not far away from the Mediterranean Sea (70 km)and is also close to the highest mountains in Spain (35 km, the scenic Sierra Nevada).

Granada has been during hundreds of years a center of outstanding cultural importance, as demonstrated by the many monuments located in central Granada, including the World Heritage sites of Alhambra and Generalife Palaces and the Albaizyn quarter(http://whc.unesco.org/en/list/314).

Weather in Granada during September (same applies for June) is mild and sunny, with maximum temperatures in the range of 28ºC and minimum of 12ºC.
